The Man Trap - Lee Brazil I'm going with 3 stars, because there is no doubt Ms Brazil can write, unfortunately after a few of her stories, I am beginning to think they are just not for me. this is not the first book of hers where I either don't like the MC's and/or supporting characters, so much so, that I can't enjoy the story. In this one, it starts with the SIL which just goes to show why nepotism is such a bad idea. I mean really helping and supporting is one thing, breaking confidence, tricking and just being bitchy is another, and a pet peeve of mine, you do not give pets to people without discussing it first, it is a living thing! Then, I understand Smon's reticence about dating a guy with a child, but he puts more thought into that than he does that he is lusting and willing to have an affair with a married man, ones ok, the other not?But alas, he is so noble in not wanting children in his relationship, it's so as not to hurt them, and it is very convienent that Gregory can be pulled out and put back at will during their dates and weekends, no need to worry about where he is or any inconvienence. Then the epiphany, after ditching the kid w/ another mom Simon wants kids and a family! huh? all of a sudden wouldn't it be great to be a family. Sure...since you have spent so much time together and given it so much thought.....lolThen the whole Drake thing, so it was ok for Drake to share his undercover stuff with Alexi, no problem, I will tell all I know about who is doing what, nope no need for secrecy or discretion, oh and while I am at it, the whole town seems to be keeping tabs on Simon, calling Alexi to share where he is, what he is doing, thinking.....And Simon can't google gay sex? No big deal, just strange for a guy who deals in books! The whole Molly thing, I am not even going into. And just one more thought, Alexi marries a lesbian because the parents are so old fashioned that they could have grand kids..etc, but now that she's dead, it's ok to be gay? It wasn't mentioned, and I sort of was left wondering..I can see how this book will appeal to some, the second chance at finding love is a great theme..just didn't work for me, but it might for you.
