This online story popped up in my feed when Ami read and reviewed it and I remembered reading this authors [b:El Presidio Rides North|15834395|El Presidio Rides North|Domashita Romero|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1345285533s/15834395.jpg|21571302] and enjoying it, so I gave this one a go.Again a road trip ( although no zombies this time, instead there are birds..well, in theory at least) two long time friends Pen and Jonathan are on the road chasing a mythical creature.This is such a wonderful story about friendship and love, even though Jonathan loves Pen, he loves him enough to take off a year of his life so he can join Pen in his quest, it's a quiet kind of love.No leaking shafts, or pressing zippers, no hiding a hard-on, or constant solo shower scenes, that was a real breath of fresh air for me.It's two geeks who love spending time together and are doing it the only way they think they can, by making it into this ridiculous quest, but it's really about something else entirely, like Pen said, it's about something 'real'.
